FAQs

Q.

How long are the training sessions?

A.

Each training session lasts for one and a half hours.

Q.

A lot of Krav Maga I’ve seen looks very Military based. Is this the case with SKM?

A.

Absolutely not. Although Krav Maga has been adopted by certain Military Forces over the years, what we teach is very much Civilian based. The original ethos of Krav Maga was that anyone can adopt and apply KM no matter what your size, build, or gender. This is the ethos we continue to teach and uphold at SKM.

Q.

How much are the lessons?

A.

Lessons are paid for on a monthly basis via Direct Debit. To train once a week costs £40.00/month and £60.00/month gives you unlimited training across all three venues. Please click here to find out more about our classes or book a FREE no obligation taster session right now.....

Q.

Are all your classes mixed?

A.

Yes. All of our classes are mixed and members get to train with each other no matter what your gender. During the year however we do hold bespoke courses for women only. If you or someone you know may be interested in one of these courses, then please click here to register your interest.

Q.

Is there a minimum or maximum age?

A.

There is a minimum age requirement of 18 but there is no age limit whatsoever. We currently have members over 60 years of age so as long as you are able to train, we are happy to train you.

Q.

What do I need to wear for training?

A.

T-shirt, shorts or training trousers/track suit type, and normal trainers for footwear. All new members receive an SKM training kit.

Q.

Do you teach Children?

A.

Krav Maga is a very physical Self Protection system and as such, there is a fair amount of body contact that would not be appropriate for Children to take part in. With that said, we are currently looking into running children specific Self Protection courses in the Cambridgeshire area; these will be adapted for under 18's but based on Krav Maga.

Q.

Do I need to be physically fit for your classes?

A.

We believe that fitness training goes hand in hand with our Self Protection training. You never know how far or how fast you may have to run from a threat or indeed how long you may have to keep fighting to survive. Therefore we include fitness exercises in all of our classes. With that said, you do not have to be of a certain fitness level before you come and train with us.
At SKM we encourage you to work within your own capabilities and to build on your fitness gradually. Your safety is our priority and it is important you do not overdo things if you have not trained before. You will work at a pace that is safe and comfortable for you. We fully acknowledge and are very much aware that everyone is different and train at different levels.
